Preventing Scale Formation

Scale formation is a problem in many areas, particularly in hard water areas. Pools with high levels of pH and total alkalinity, and those that are run at high temperatures, are particularly susceptible. Under these conditions, scale is likely to form on pool surfaces, covers, pipes and fittings.

Aquaklear helps to prevent the formation of scale by creating nuclei in the water that are far more attractive than foreign surfaces for crystal formation. This encourages the formation of scale in suspension, rather than on pool fittings and pool covers.
 

How it works

When power is applied to the Aquaklear system, an electric field is generated in the water by the ferrite ring. Flocculation of the particles in the water then occurs. The flocculated particles sit on top of the sand filter, but still allow the water to pass through. This results in an improved water clarity, reduced duration of backwashing, and where required, reduced backwashing frequency. The quantity of water expelled during backwashing process may therefore be cut by up to half.
